We would like to invite you to the Pink Film Festival, with the theme “Homophobia in football” at the Haags Filmhuis, Spui 191 in The Hague. In collaboration with Movies that Matters, an interesting program of films, discussions and Barbara Barend has been put together.

At 19.00 hrs we welcome you with a cup of coffee.
From 19.30 hrs presentation by Dirk-Jan Bouw, producer of the film “I love Hooligans”. In it he tells how this special collaboration came about. Following the film, an animated documentary in a powerful comic book style about a homosexual Dutch football hooligan. He lives for football, his nature is degraded to an afterthought – and also a well-kept secret. Everything revolves around his club, the camaraderie, the tension of the match and the battle with the opponent. Only at home, where only club souvenirs are waiting for him, he also dares to long for security and a loving gathering. (Dutch). After the movie the opportunity to ask questions and reactions about this movie.
“Wonderkid”, director Rhys Chapman. A poignant film that shows how bad it is with the acceptance of gays in the football world. The protagonist is a football prof who would like to come out of the closet, but hesitates for fear that the football world will not accept him. A fight between himself, his manager, his fellow players and his fans. (English, Dutch subtitled) After the movie a discussion with Rhys Chapman.
“Heroes of Football”, a Dutch documentary about several facets of gay acceptance and homophobia in football and the parties involved. After the movie a discussion with Karin Blankenstein, chairman of the John Blankenstein Foundation.

At 21.00 hours after sitting with the opportunity to ask more questions and reactions to these screened films, followed by a drink and snack in the café of the Filmhuis.
